J. Dawayne Murdock has joined the Fort Smith, Arkansas office of the CBI-Sunbelt Business Broker Network. Growing up as the son of a small business owner gave Dawayne exposure to the trials and benefits of small business at a very early age. He has continued to watch the growth and development of his dad’s and father-in-law’s businesses and recognizes the importance of a successful transfer of those businesses at some point in time. Dawayne has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Arkansas Tech University (ATU) in Russellville and a Master’s degree in Secondary Vocational Business Education from University of Central Arkansas in Conway. During his years at ATU Dawayne was actively involved in Young Life, an evangelistic ministry to high school students, serving as a volunteer leader and student staff. After completing his Master’s degree, Dawayne taught accounting, computers and business classes at Arkansas Valley Vocational Technical School in Ozark. In 1991 Dawayne had an opportunity to move from the classroom into “real world” accounting, and he accepted a position with PRADCO Outdoor Brands, a manufacturer of fishing lures and accessories. Dawayne spent 10 years at PRADCO, starting as Accounting Manager then promoting to Controller. Dawayne also served as Controller for K-MAC Enterprises and Trans-American Tire Company. K-MAC is one of the top five franchise groups with YUM Foods. K-MAC, at that time, owned 140 Taco Bell and KFC and four Golden Corral restaurants in the four state areas of Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Trans-American Tire Company was a commercial tire dealer and retread operator. PRADCO, during Dawayne’s tenure there, lent him the opportunity to see and experience several acquisitions including other fishing lure companies and, with expansion beyond the fishing industry to the hunting industry, Knight Rifle, Knight & Hale game calls and Code Blue Scents. Dawayne and his wife Kim, together with their sons, Joel, 13 and Micah, 9, reside in Fort Smith, Arkansas and have been involved in Bible Study Fellowship; and Dawayne served six years as the Teaching Leader for the Fort Smith Men’s evening class. Dawayne also served six years on the Board of Directors for Abilities Unlimited, and Dawayne and Kim served eight years on the Adult Committee for Young Life of Fort Smith. They are also active in AWANA and an innovative ministry to a local apartment complex through their church, Central Christian. Joel and Micah attend Union Christian Academy, where Kim works as a Library Assistant. Kim is also a skincare consultant with Arbonne International and teaches piano.

David is proud to be a part of the CBI-Sunbelt team in Fort Smith Arkansas. He is a long time resident of Greenwood, where he served two terms on the City Council. His first business was a candy and comic book stand he started in his front yard at age 7. A neighbor who drove a candy delivery truck allowed him to buy boxes of candy at wholesale and sell it to the neighborhood kids at retail. (He did eat most of the profit, however!) He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1979 and from Denver Seminary in 1984,where he started a window washing business and contracted with other students to help service his customers. David sold it after graduating to begin a career in Christian Counseling, and eventually serving as the Clinical Director for Horizon, a Drug and Alcohol treatment program for adolescents.
In 1995 he became President and managing partner of Professional Security, Incorporated, purchasing a smaller Security Company along the way. The company contracts security guard services to major manufacturing facilities in Arkansas and Oklahoma, employing as many as 200 officers. He became a certified professional in Human Resources and served at the State level as the legislative affairs chair. David has represented a variety of business concerns at the State and Federal level, meeting with Senate and Congressional leaders and testifying at State level committees. He continues to teach in the Advance Program for John Brown University, where he teaches, Business Ethics, Legal Issues in Human Resources and Organizational Leadership.
Currently, David is an investor in his son’s web-based, music technology business designed for school bands and orchestras. He serves as the Executive Director of Corporate Chaplaincy Services, a local marketplace ministry. He is also Vice President of the River Valley Business and Industry networking group. In the summer of 2009, David sold his interest in P.S.I. to join CBI-Sunbelt. His background in business and counseling, coupled with his love of helping people solve problems has been a great asset in helping customers achieve their goals.
His wife, Debbie, a Mary Kay Director, consented to marry him in 1978 and along the way they raised four children, Amy Piazza, a graphic designer, Chris, a music business entrepreneur and two daughters, Katie and Beckah ages 18 and 15.

Stuart Ward is a broker in the Joplin, MO office.
Stuart's roots run deep in the Joplin area. Born in Joplin, he attended Missouri Southern State College, where he was a member of the 1972 NAIA national champion Lions football team. Then, graduating from Ozark Christian College, he had ministries in Oklahoma, Texas, and Alabama. Many aspects of Stuart's ministry experience come into play at Sunbelt: The ability to handle many roles and tasks, the need to help educate buyers and sellers of their roles in the process, the attention to detail that ensures a successful transaction, but most of all, the desire to truly help people. The exciting business environment of southwest Missouri, combined with the excellent recreational pursuits, have brought Stuart back to his Ozark roots. He's looking forward to working with business buyers and sellers for many years to come. Stuart teaches a weekly adult bible study class at Fir Road Christian Church, where he attends with wife Laura. Son Matthew lives and works in Huntsville, Alabama, and daughter Rachel lives and works in Louisville, Kentucky. His mother and father are semi-retired from the ministry, and live in Purdy, Missouri.
